The Second International Conference on Mycology in the Middle East and North of Africa (ICM-2018)

The Second International Conference on Mycology in MENA (ICM-2018) will be held by the Arab Society for Fungal Conservation with Suez Canal University at Ismailia from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 October 2018.

Contributions are welcome on any aspect of mycology (micro and macrofungi) and fungal relationships with other organisms, including focused empirical, theoretical, and related fields including bioprospecting, clean up the environment, history of science, and World heritage. The participation of early career scholars and postgraduate research researchers is positively encouraged.

Conference chairman is Prof. Youssef Gherbawy (Vice President for Community Services and Environmental Affairs South Valley University, Qena, Egypt). In order to help plan the ICM-2018 and ensure the involvement and participation of the world-wide scientific community, several committees have been set up. A Scientific Committee, chaired by Prof. Bhim P. Singh (Department of Biotechnology, Mizoram University, India) has been established, and an Organizing Committee, supported by sponsors, is overseeing the running of the Conference.

A Call for Papers and Sessions issued in 31 of January 2018. The deadline for receipt of proposals will be 30th June 2018. A draft program will be published in September 2018.

Plenary speakers will include Prof. Andreas Bruder (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, Switzerland), Prof. Bhim Singh (Department of Biotechnology, University of Mizoram, India), Prof. Giovanna Varese (University of Turin, Italy), Prof. Michael Weiß (Steinbeis Innovation Center Organismal Mycology and Microbiology, Stuttgart, Germany), Prof. Zakaria A. Bakka (Damietta University, Egypt) and Ass. Prof. Ahmed M. Abdel-Azeem (Suez Canal University, Egypt).

The Conference will include a full range of academic sessions, plenary lectures, social events and field trips beyond Ismailia.
